The Vision
A small co-housing ecovillage of farmers, artisans, and just-trying-to-be-and-do good'ers who like it simple but still appreciate the mess of life, to live in a balanced, present, walkable, human-scale way, perfused by town and country. Bubbles exist, whether by intention or not; while we're still alive, let's make a beautiful one.

We are just starting this venture, and looking for the right folks. Is that you? While we might appear to be particular in our listing of desired professions, we are open! Get in touch! Email us at hello@atelierfarm.com. And spread the word to anyone you feel might be a good fit!
There are a lot of details in the pages that follow -- it's important to look before you leap -- but try not to get lost in them; hold fast to the vision of the forest as you wind your way through the trees. Despite the "good golly, there are a lot of words here!" response I get when looking at this introduction, I know that at some point I will have more pictures up to divide it all by a thousand. Thank you for taking this for it is, at present.
In particular, we are looking for folks to fill the following slots -- and more, or less. You can find the details in the "Us" section. Note that due to the limited number of households that we can accept, each household will likely have a farmer -- part- or full-time -- in the mix. Most of these professions are not in the college curriculum, and might not be full-time, so do not be afraid to put your hat in the ring if you're generally intelligent, gritty, and tangentially experienced. The expectation is that some fair share of you may be hyphenated in your profession : therapist-farmer, attorney-boat builder, etc. Also, let's repeat : we're not limiting ourselves to what follows.
Cook(s) : Meals/Week TBD. Vegetarian, Ayurvedic, Local, mostly-mostly.
Educator/"Tutor"(s) : K-12, in conjunction with home-schooling, self-directed, whole-human, and mastery-based approaches. (We may be able to alternatively or concurrently increase the grade offerings at Lakeside School, a Waldorf-inspired school 6 miles from the farm.)
Farmers, multiple-choice -- 3-4 x full, and/or part-time equivalents -- to fulfill the missions of:
Plants : Vegetable, Small Fruit, Tree Fruit, General Herbs, Flowers, Hay, Staples, Flowers, Christmas Trees.
Animals : Sheep for wool, Chickens for eggs, Bees for honey
Seeds & Trees, perhaps.
Human Transport Woodworker
Wheeled : Bicycle, Cargo, Kickbike, etc.
Boat, Light : Canoe, Kayak, Stand-up Paddleboard, etc.
Boat, Small : Sailboat, Dinghy, Skull, etc.
